League voting results
This year we had five proposals to vote on as possible changes for 2009:
- Change keeper eligibility to follow the player rather than the team.
- Change keeper allocation to allow 3 Roster players to be kept rather than 4.
- Change roster requirements to one starting catcher rather than two.
- Change roster requirements to 10 pitchers and 2 UT rather than 9 and 1.
- Change the league team limit to 20 teams rather than 18.
The first proposal was the only one to get the 3/4 majority vote needed to be enacted. All players drafted with a special keeper status this season will keep that status regardless of which team they end up on, and the final owning team will be able to keep them regardless of whether that team drafted the player or not. The league constitution will be updated to reflect these changes. Also, rather than posting a grid of players with special keeper eligibility for each team as we have in the past, we will post lists of players taken in each special draft.
